Wild cards into the Main Draw of the 2019 US Open were awarded to Katie Volynets (our 2019 18s Champion) and Whitney Osuigwe (our 2018 18s Champion) and Coco Gauff (who finished 3rd in 2018 and has had an outstanding year) and Caty McNally (a 2018 doubles Champion). Reese Brantmeier (our 2019 16s Champion) was awarded a wild card into the Junior US Open. She was also awarded a wild card into the Main Draw qualifying along with Emma Navarro (the 18s runner-up) and Hailey Baptiste (18s third-place).

our 2019 16s singles champion!!  Valencia Xu (r) of

 Livingston, NJ was the runner-up (below). Billie Jean King was

 on-site to award the gold and silver balls.

Congratulations to the Final Eight - quarterfinalists in singles and doubles, 16s and 18s - who were invited to a sunset beach dinner at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club. Marianne Werdel gave an inspiring and motivational talk about the importance of the friends made at these tournaments. 

Opening Ceremonies were held on Saturday, August 3rd. The Marine Band San Diego entertained the crowd. Jack McGrory welcomed everyone to the tournament and San Diego and the group photo was taken. This was followed by a player party catered by The Old Spaghetti Factory enjoyed by all.
